Viognier
Okanagan
11%
Made in an unoaked style, our Viognier is off dry, medium-high acidity and mediumn body. The nose exhibits delightful floral notes of honeysuckle and citrus blossoms. The palate has a smooth mouthfeel of limey-tangerine and refreshing citrus on thefinish.
Vintage Notes
Viognier is a full-bodied white wine that originally came from southern France. Therefore, the name is French (“Vee-own-yay”). When purchasing a bottle of Condrieu from the Rhone Valley in France, it is Viognier. In some regions, it is also crafted with Syrah to provide more color and aroma – generally found in Australian wines.
Winemaker's Notes
Viognier often has a much softer start that builds into an oily feeling on the mid-palate (a characteristic of the grape) to a limey-tangerine note, reminiscent of bitter citrus rind on the finish. In addition to the citrus, Viognier will often have some more bitter, almond-husk-y aromas on the finish as well.
